South Miami Neurology is proud to announce that Christopher Jimenez, MD, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Medical Association (MDCMA).  MDCMA is a respected organization dedicated to supporting physicians, advancing medical standards, and protecting the integrity of the patient-physician relationship.

This recognition reflects Dr. Jimenez’s commitment to the practice of medicine, his dedication to patient care, and his continued involvement in the broader medical community. As a neurologist with South Miami Neurology, Dr. Jimenez provides comprehensive neurological care for patients throughout South Florida, helping individuals and families navigate complex conditions affecting the brain, nerves, muscles, and nervous system.

The mission of the Miami-Dade County Medical Association is to support its members in all aspects of the practice of medicine; to serve physicians and their patients by establishing and promoting ethical, educational, and clinical standards for the medical profession; and to advocate the highest principle of all, the integrity of the patient-physician relationship.

For physicians like Dr. Jimenez, this mission aligns closely with the daily responsibilities of providing thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate care. Neurology is a field that often requires careful listening, detailed evaluation, advanced diagnostic testing, and long-term treatment planning. Patients may come to a neurologist with symptoms that are frightening, confusing, or difficult to explain, such as memory changes, headaches, weakness, numbness, seizures, tremors, dizziness, or changes in movement.

Having a physician who is both clinically experienced and deeply committed to the patient relationship can make a meaningful difference in the care experience.

Christopher Jimenez, MD, elected to the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Medical AssociationA Dedicated Neurologist Serving South Miami

Christopher Jimenez, MD, is a neurologist with South Miami Neurology. He joined our group in 2019. His specialties include general neurology, dementia, electromyography, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke. This broad range of expertise allows Dr. Jimenez to evaluate and treat many of the most common and complex neurological conditions seen in clinical practice.

Patients experiencing frequent headaches or migraines may need a neurologist to help identify triggers, rule out underlying causes, and develop a treatment plan that may reduce the frequency and severity of symptoms.

Individuals with memory concerns may benefit from a neurological evaluation to better understand whether symptoms may be related to dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, medication effects, sleep disorders, mood changes, or other medical conditions. Patients with seizures or suspected epilepsy often require specialized testing and ongoing care to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Dr. Jimenez also evaluates patients with neuromuscular concerns, including weakness, numbness, tingling, muscle pain, and nerve-related disorders. Electromyography, often called EMG, is one of the important diagnostic tools used to evaluate nerve and muscle function. This testing can help identify conditions such as neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, radiculopathy, and other neuromuscular disorders.

In addition, Dr. Jimenez provides care for patients with Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and stroke-related concerns. These conditions often require ongoing neurological management, education, coordination of care, and careful monitoring over time. At South Miami Neurology, patients have access to experienced neurologists who understand the importance of accurate diagnosis, individualized treatment, and clear communication.

Strong Medical Training and Clinical Experience

Dr. Jimenez received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital/Miami VA Hospital. His training provided extensive experience in diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system, as well as specialized expertise in clinical neurophysiology.

Clinical neurophysiology is an important area of neurology that focuses on the electrical activity of the nervous system. This training is especially valuable in the evaluation of conditions such as epilepsy, nerve disorders, muscle disorders, and other neurological conditions that may require advanced diagnostic testing. Through his education, residency, and fellowship training, Dr. Jimenez developed the foundation needed to care for patients with a wide range of neurological needs.

Dr. Christopher Jimenez is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, an organization dedicated to promoting high-quality neurological care and supporting neurologists through education, research, and professional development. His membership reflects his ongoing commitment to the field of neurology and to staying connected with the standards and advancements that shape neurological care.

Highly Recommended by Patients

Dr. Jimenez is highly recommended by patients and has earned 5-star ratings with U.S. News, Healthgrades, Google, and other patient review platforms. These ratings reflect the trust and confidence patients place in him and speak to the experience many patients have when receiving care at South Miami Neurology.

For patients, choosing a neurologist is an important decision. Neurological symptoms can affect nearly every part of daily life, from memory and movement to sleep, balance, communication, pain, vision, and independence. Patients often want a physician who takes the time to listen, explain the diagnosis, answer questions, and develop a care plan that feels both thorough and understandable.

Positive patient feedback is especially meaningful in a specialty like neurology, where care may involve complex diagnoses, ongoing follow-up, and long-term management. Dr. Jimenez’s strong patient ratings are a reflection of his professionalism, clinical knowledge, and patient-centered approach.
